Day 323.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (LUK 12:32-34 ESV)
How generous is our father! How often do we read of his pleasure in giving. He is the greater father who delights in giving good gifts to his children. He did nit withhold his son, how much more will he give us all things! And yet, we grow anxious and discontent with our current state. We long for heaven and try and recreate it with things, growing anxious when our picture isn’t met. How we must remember this quality of our father in heaven. If he withholds it is for our good. We must latch onto this great characteristic of our father.
As we do, we are free to be like him, giving generously to others in need. He has our back. And our generosity has a way of tuning our own hearts into a fuller understanding of his.
