Day 168.

Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!” (Proverbs 26:18, 19 ESV)

There seems to be this thought that if you say something mean and then tack on the words, “I’m just joking!” that it somehow makes the mean thing okay. But the words still sting. I love the imagery of this proverb as it says it so much better. May God help our house to remember this.
