Day 94.

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,
13  to give him rest from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
14  For the Lord will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage; (Ps 94:12-14 ESV)

No discipline is hard at the time and I do not look forward to the difficulties of it. But I can appreciate it because of what it means. It means that I am blessed, not abandoned by the Lord. That is my real fear; that my sin will drive God away from me; that he will abandon me because of my failures. Discipline is the assurance that he has not abandoned me.

Do you ever think of discipline like this?
