Day 215.
Judges 17:6 ESV

In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

This verse reflects the theme of the book of Judges and it has always amazed me. It shouldn’t however. Generations have passed since the Exodus. The stories of rescue have gone the way of legend. Without a strong, godly leader the people drift into their own forms of religion. In these verses I see so much of our own culture reflected, especially as we move further from a faith in an external truth (an inerrant Bible).  We do have one important difference. We, as the church, have the Holy Spirit and a king on the throne.
