God’s covenant, his faithfulness and love, are great. But that is too understated. They are so great that one generation is not enough to receive them. We think in terms of years when we celebrate our faithfulness in marriage, as we remember our anniversaries. God thinks in terms of generations. His faithfulness demands it. So when you think about the saving work God has done in your life, it is not enough for you to keep it to yourself. It is to be passed on to your children so that they may pass it on to their children.

“Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children— (Dt 4:9)
