McCheyne’s Bible Reading Plan: Lev 13, Ps 15-16, Pr 27, 2 Thes 1

To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Thes 1:11-12)

God is behind the growth and good works of His people and we pray for God to be doing this work. This short summary shows that we must be praying for our church, that we must be praying for God to be at work making us worthy (lining our lives and desires up with our profession of faith), and for God to be the power behind all of our good works. And the reason we pray these things, ultimately, is not for better of people, but for the name of God to be praised, remembering that all of this is by grace, completely undeserved.
