Sometimes we find ourselves uninvolved in our own prayer and Bible reading. We go through the motions as our minds are engaged elsewhere. But we must remember to whom we pray. We pray to the mighty God, the one who created the universe by His mere word! God must not be peripheral in our thoughts, pushed out by other things. Anything else is trivial next to the Lord.

Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! (Psalm 33:9)
