McCheyne’s Bible Reading Plan: Ge 43, Mk 13, Job 9, Ro 13

There is no arbiter between us,
who might lay his hand on us both. (Job 9:33)

Job is lamenting his torment and facing the reality that there is s huge gap between God and him. Even though he is blameless, he sees that nothing in or of him can enable him to stand before God. He comes face to face with his (and our) desperate need for an arbiter to can “lay his hand on us both.” Thanks be to God for sending Jesus to be that arbiter.
