Day 100.

He brought me out into a broad place;
he rescued me, because he delighted in me. (2 Samuel 22:20)

After David’s rescue from Absalom’s rebellion he writes a song of praise about God and His salvation. In that song we find the verse above, which is an encouraging surprise to those of us with legalistic tendencies. The reason we find God rescuing David is His delight in him. Do you think about God delighting in you? He does! And there should be no doubt about this delight – his love – as you see it on display in the giving of Jesus while you were still a sinner (cf. Ro 5:8). It is God’s delight in you that ushers in transformation of character.

Lord, thank you for delighting in me! May your delight in me lead to my delight in you. You are an awesome God!
