Day 13.
Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise,
but the companion of fools will suffer harm. (Proverbs 13:20 ESV)
I can’t help but think of some young people that recently have spent time in jail. This verse rings so true. It is not an excuse for the trouble they experienced. The young people in jail are culpable. But it is certainly true that their friends encouraged and increased the opportunities to find trouble.
It is important to note here what Proverbs means by “fool.” It does not mean stupid or dumb, but rather, one that lives as though there is no God. That is the essence of foolishness.
What company do you keep?
Pray for God’s provision for you to connect with others who are “wise” (who live in light of God) and ask the Lord for wisdom.
Chronological Reading Plan plus Psalms: Job 35-37, Ps 13 (& Pr 13)
There are lots of people at my school who go to church and believe in God but it makes no difference in their lives. They still talk like everyone else.
I spend a lot of time with friends who are not christians or at least not “practing christians”. Influence goes both ways. I find that when trouble appears they come to you and want prayer. I pray that love acceptance will pave a way to those who are lost.

We see a lot of people that know God but others that don’t. Our closest group of friends walk wisely.
