Day 343.
Psalm 119 is all about the wonders and greatness of the Word of God. The Psalmist has learned to see God himself in the law and desires nothing more than to keep it wholeheartedly. But even he knows the weakness of his own sinful nature and so he prays this prayer:

Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to selfish gain!
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and give me life in your ways. (Psalm 119:36, 37 ESV)

What do you think the Psalmist had in mind by “worthless things?”

Keep this prayer on your lips today.
