Day 208.
Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.” (Judges 10:14 ESV)
Don’t we find that people get religious when they find themselves in trouble? How about you? Certainly the Lord allows some calamity in our lives in order to draw us back into fellowship with him. But it should also serve to open our eyes to the futility of our idols. If money is our idol, why do we not turn to it for help in time of need? It is gone. What about popularity? Trouble tends to make friends disappear. What about our past achievements? They are quickly forgotten.
