Day 185.
How many are driven in their decisions by the pursuit of money. Money is indeed an important tool for living, but it is only a tool. A gift to be sure. We cannot build a life that will stretch into eternity with it. In the end it’s emptiness will be clear as those who worship it become like it.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
the work of human hands.
They have mouths, but do not speak;
they have eyes, but do not see;
they have ears, but do not hear,
nor is there any breath in their mouths.
Those who make them become like them,
so do all who trust in them! (Psalm 135:15-18 ESV)

Couldn’t help but add these words of Jesus as he scares the daylights out of his disciples by walking on the water at night near their boat which is in the middle of Lake Galilee…

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.” (Matthew 14:27 ESV)
