Was thinking this morning, and all weekend really, about our soldiers and how great we have need of them. May God’s blessing rest upon them and their families. May his protection surround them both from physical and spiritual attack, and may they find God to be their true refuge.

As I thought about them and was looking for a verse this morning that could be addressed to them, this verse stood out. It speaks of what Israel needs in order to find peace from the enemies that assail them. For all war (even terrorism) falls under the jurisdiction of the Lord. He wields it as a tool for his purposes. In Israel’s case it was to get their attention that they might put their faith back in Him. May he gain our attention. May our country see revival and know the peace that exists in fellowship with God.

Will you not revive us again,
that your people may rejoice in you? (Psalm 85:6)
